Something I prepared earlier

Spotty pants

You know how in cooking shows, when pressed for time, they show off something they prepared earlier. I feel like the craft weekend (Woohoo, only two sleeps to go) is going to be a little bit like that for me. I won't be getting that much craft time, what with the weather (Indian summer, scorching temperatures, begging for some beach time) and the fact that I'll be keeping tabs on the floor sweeper (aka Baby C).

I'm planning to sew some clothes for C, but I'll be taking along something I prepared earlier.

Above: some more pants, made with the dark murky spotted fabric I picked up at Amitie the other week (Hi again Louise!). Same pattern as these jeans, but unlined. The back side of the fabric is cute too (you can see it on the cuffs) with tufts of coloured thread where the spots are woven in. I'm looking forward to playing with this fabric again, seeing how I can use both sides on something.

Below: a new shirt. A different kimono style shirt (style F from this book), with a tie on the inside and two buttons. Made with Kirsten Doran's lovely Dandelion Garden fabric (in the mid weight cotton), trimmed with a chocolate brown bias that I made (I love my new Clover bias tape folding gadget. Wish I got one of these years ago. Especially when used in conjunction with some continuous bias tape directions), and a couple of perfect buttons from my button box.
