Hey, can you remember the Easy Chairs we found on the side of the road (near my parents' home), and started to restore exactly one year and 5 days ago?
Well check this out:

No, we haven't finished.
Would you believe that we found a matching pair on the side of the road (near our home), minus their cushions and in need of refinishing, but otherwise in usable condition, this morning?! We're still in shock.
As I type, I am comfortably reclining on one, sitting on the cushion inserts that I prepared for our original restoration chairs a couple of months ago. I was anticipating making some progress on the restoration efforts over the end of year break, so had made new cushion inserts ready (still haven't decided on a fabric for the cushion covers though).

As it turns out, we got completely absorbed in our front yard renovation works and other odd jobs during the break, and have made no progress on the chairs. But now we have something to sit on, and the lounge suddenly feels so much loungier, for the mere effort of carrying them down the street.
I can't get over the amazing things that can be found on the street. Yesterday I got rid of some old pots we didn't need, and today we found new lounge chairs. Wonderful!

(Debate has commenced on which ones it would be best to keep, or whether we should keep them all, and if we only keep two then which should we renovate, and which should we give to the friend who was with us when we found them and therefore has first dibs on them if we decide not to keep them.. sorry if you would like a pair for yourself)

Lovely renovation - like the leafy material for the cushions too.

Wow... those chairs have such good bones! And having got halfway through - finally started the other day - recovering a kids' flipout sofa and cursing the whole thing - I have renewed admiration for your upholstery skills.
