Best foot forward...

 Purple Passaggio
I have to admit I've been starting to enjoy my blog break a little. I've somehow gotten over the strange feeling that there's something (many things) going on out there that I'm missing out on, and have started to see some more tangible fruits from my time spent otherwise occupied.

My head has been so drained from the ongoing rush at work (along with the pressure that that causes at home, and the inevitable head colds that erupt at such times) that I've been quite content to sit quietly in the evening, plugging slowly away at these socks, which have taken a surprising 8 months to complete. I'm not the fastest knitter on the planet I know, but the long production time is more a result of the following facts: the socks are complicated, I am somewhat of a perfectionist, and I practically knit them twice (and probably could have knit them over once more if I was more of a perfectionist than I am content to be in this instance).

But they are at last done. They are on my feet as I type, my toes are perfectly toasty and cosy, and in that flash of progress that often marks a new project I'm nearly up to the heel on my first Skew sock, knitted in some divinely soft Handmaiden Casbah.

  1. Mmmmmm. Scrummy socks. Doing quite some of that curled up n the evening bizzo myself. You may possibly (no promises yet - there is baggage* to overcome) inspired the crafting of a mate for one of the two single socks.

  2. Gorgeous. Such a nice color, yum!

Just last night, I elected to turn away from the computer screen and sit with my knitting.  It was very nice for a change.

I have Skew socks in my queue. (hah, rhymes!)
