a weekend away...

I wasn't entirely sure if I was up for craft weekend.
My creative/making/thinking brain was mush.
I'd scribbled down some ideas of things I could make, so I had some direction when it came to grabbing fabrics and notions and patterns to take.
But mostly I was just looking forward to a weekend catching up with good friends (and getting to know some new ones), and a break from the usual home life demands and routines.
Once again, the weekend exceeded all my expectations.

Craft Weekend
1. Craft Weekend, 2. Craft Weekend, 3. Craft Weekend, 4. Craft Weekend, 5. Craft Weekend, 6. Craft Weekend, 7. Craft Weekend, 8. Craft Weekend, 9. Craft Weekend, 10. Craft Weekend, 11. Craft Weekend, 12. Craft Weekend

The weather was far wilder than I had anticipated.
The food more exotic than I usually consume.
The green hire car more lurid than you could have imagined (A reliable source tells me that that colour isn't selling well).
The sharing of friendship was incredibly engaging, entertaining, inspiring and surprisingly educational.
And after getting over some initial sewing stuff-ups my brain gradually kicked into gear. I managed to whip up a few fun things that have been gleefully received by C, and made ,myself some new (breastfeeding friendly) summer tops (with a few finishing touches to be completed at home).
I also got started on another project (not photographed)- something a little bit different for me, with some hand sewing to continue with in the evenings, now that I am back home.
