This no-crafting-to-rest-my-thumb business is really killing me.
It's also leading to some stash enhancements of various kinds. The fabric kind and the yarn kind, and quite probably more of the fabric kind before the weekend is out. I'm also plotting and scheming and daydreaming about everything I want to knit, whilst trying to ignore my son's demands that I knit him something RIGHT NOW!!****%%%$$@
I'm making bloody minded attempts to do something creative in the kitchen. Like trying out some new Thai dishes (if you want to get inspired about cooking Thai food too then I strongly advise spending some time over at Sooz's blog right now. Masaman is at the top of my list). And baking a special cake for my husband for his birthday (with white chocolate icing to please the white chocolate loving men I live with).
I'm sitting stunned as I watch the news and tweets about the natural disasters rocking Japan, grateful that the land I'm standing on is steady, relieved that those I know in the vicinity are safe, but worried about what future natural disasters may lie ahead.
Of course I can't just watch TV without doing something else at the same time, which makes for plenty of Pinteresting. And filling up my head with various other ideas and information. Such as the fact that you can use vinegar instead of fabric softener... and 15 tips for encouraging good behaviour in young children.
And when I get bored with the internet I may even tackle some of the other things that have been on the to-do list for a while. Like sorting family photos or selecting wedding photos to get printed (only been 4 and a bit years in the waiting)...

Um but wait ... aren't you taking that photo with your sore thumb?! Rest it lady or it'll be even longer before you're back on the sticks (of course having said that that is one cute little face poking out there!).
ReplyDeleteNo, no, that would be my left hand you can see there. The right one was all strapped up in a brace at the time, I promise, cross my heart (with my left hand of course).
ReplyDeleteAh, she's so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt must be so frustrating to be thumbless, hope it's better soon.
I think I'm going to have to do a Clothkits order tomorrow. The vinegar for fabric softener makes sense - I use apple cider vinegar instead of conditioner. Hope he thumb is better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your thumb eases up soon so you can get to that huge queue on Ravelry. I just added a few of them to my queue too :)
