These tag toys have been replicating around here. A playful little bit of fabric origami. It's my new favorite baby toy. Good thing I still have plenty of friends producing babies.
I think the pattern (get the pdf here, and while you're at it scour the Nani Iro site for more free Japanese pattern goodies- you just need to draft them up yourself) is intended for a cushion, and it's such a fun and quirky shape to make I'm contemplating making some of those too, minus the tags.
I did make a pincushion one too, but I couldn't stuff it as firm as I'd like a pincushion to be. I'll be sticking with the pincushion in Last Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts next time my pincushion making urge strikes. I made one of those as a gift (of course, gave it away before I photographed it) but it was fun to make, perfectly functional and well received.

These are fantastic!

ReplyDeleteVery clever, I love the nani Iro site, thanks for the hint.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what fun to have a birthday party with a theme, my children would have loved it, if I had been inspired when it was their time!
